Research Interests
My research focuses on the ways that young people construct and negotiate identity across relationships and contexts, over time, and within systemic inequities. In my primary work, I use qualitative methods to explore identity processes in STEM and the ways that families shape STEM identity development. My work on identity has also extended to researching postsecondary outcomes for college students with marginalized identities as well as gender bias experienced by women athletes and coaches.
My work has been guided by my advisors, Dr. Keisha Varma and Dr. Geoffrey Maruyama.
